March Favourites

Once again it's time for my monthly favourites! This month is kind of a mixture of some new products I've been loving, and some older ones I've rediscovered!

Urban Decay Naked2 Palette (Suspect + Snakebite) // I love this palette. don't think I've gone more than a week without using this palette since I got it for my birthday back in October, but I often switch up the shadows I use in it! This month I've been wearing Suspect and Snakebite a lot! I'll put Suspect on the inner half of my lid, and Snakebite on the outer half and in my crease!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 110 Ivory // I've been using Revlon Colorstay foundation for about a year now but I wanted to try this one out after seeing some great reviews of it! I really like how this foundation looks and feels on my skin. It doesn't have as much coverage as Colorstay, but for day-to-day wear it's great! I also do get a bit oily on my chin when wearing this foundation but I only have to blot once or twice throughout the day so it's not too bad. This will be a great foundation for the summer time because of how light it feels on my skin! I'd still love to try the Nearly Naked powder as well!

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Stoplight Red // I got this lipstick last month from Nonpariel Boutique online with a few other of the lipsticks from this line and I have been so impressed with them. I wore this lipstick out the other day and wore it into the night when I went out and it lasted so well. I did have to touch-up a little bit after eating, but that's expected when wearing lipsticks. I was wearing this for roughly 10 hours though and it didn't cause me any discomfort at all, it didn't feather out of my lip line (and I wasn't wearing lipliner under it), and it didn't dry out my lips since it is a matte formula! This might just be my new favourite red lipstick. I swatched it here if you'd like to see!

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coral Queen // I got this lipstick this month and I love it so much. It's the perfect bright coral lipstick for spring and summer. The colour is buildable so you can wear a sheerer wash of colour if you prefer, but can layer it to be super bright. The formula is also really moisturizing and comfortable! You can see swatches of it here!

Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake // This is something I've had since last summer but just rediscovered this month! This colour is a light pink that is perfect if you just want a little bit of colour on your lips. This stayed in my school bag for most of the month and was perfect to have if I wanted something light and comfortable on my lips!

OPI You're Such A Budapest // I only got this nail polish about a week ago but I am already so in love with it. It's probably in my top 5 nail polishes I own now. It's the perfect pastel periwinkle and it will be on my nails a ton this spring and summer for sure. I swatched it in a NOTD post here!

Slatkin & Co. Caribbean Escape Candle // I bought this candle on Boxing Day and oh my goodness I am obsessed with it. I've been waiting for spring & summer to burn it since it's such a summery scent, and now that I've started burning it, I can't stop. It is the most delicious smell ever. The description of the scent on the Bath & Body Works website says "Dive into this blend of tropical melon, raspberry nectar, and lemon mellowed by creamy coconut milk and raw sugarcane for a fragrant and exotic escape." If you like sweet, fruity scents you need to get this. I only have the 4oz. candle but as soon as I make my way through this one I'll be going out to get the 3-wick version of it.

What were some of your favourite products this month? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? Also, Happy Easter everyone!

Nail of the Day: Easter Pastels

I love pastel nail polishes, so the fact that it's Easter this weekend gave me the perfect excuse to put a bunch of my favourites to use! I chose 5 of my favourite pastels and painted each nail one of them! They kind of remind me of Cadbury Mini Eggs haha! I might do a more elaborate Easter nail art over the weekend, but I just wanted to do this one for fun!

The polishes I used are: OPI Pink Friday, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, and Essie Mint Candy Apple!

Nail of the Day: You're Such A Budapest

This is You're Such A Budapest from the OPI Euro Centrale collection. I am so excited that I finally got this nail polish! I've had my eye on it since the first photos of the collection were released. It's a beautiful pastel periwinkle colour with a very slight silver shimmer. The shimmer is so subtle though it just looks like a cream polish basically!

In this photo you might be able to see the hint of silver shimmer in the bottle. This really is the perfect colour for the spring and I couldn't be happier with it. It took 3 coats to go completely opaque.

I applied this over 2 coats of OPI Nail Envy, which I just got recently. I've noticed since I've grown my nails out a bit and started filing them to be square that my nails have been quite brittle, so I've been using this lately! I really like it so far!

I'm still hoping to get a couple more shades from the Euro Centrale collection, since the entire collection was so gorgeous and perfect for spring! Do you have any polishes from it? What are your favourites?

My First Julep Maven Box! (Review + Swatches)

This month I got my first ever Julep Maven box! I've heard about these polishes for a while and I've been really curious to try them out! I saw an ad somewhere online that for a limited time they were offering 50% off your first box, so I got one! I also later found out when I was making my order, that I could also choose an additional 2 nail polishes to get added to my box for free! So all of this that I got was only $10!!

I got the Classic With a Twist box because I really liked the look of the two nail polishes that came with it. They were both cream polishes, and that's my favourite texture. The starter box also came with an Instant Warming Foot Scrub and a sample of a hand scrub (I've yet to try either scrub). The additional 2 free nail polishes I chose also have a cream finish.

Helen // The first polish that came in my box is Helen. The Julep website describes this as a smoky pastel lavender creme, which is very accurate! I love pastel shades for spring, and I also love that this is a very muted pastel colour. The formula of the polish was smooth and applied opaque in 2 coats.

Claudette // The second polish in my starter box is Claudette, a smoky brick red creme. This polish is quite possibly my favourite of them all. It's a gorgeous creamy red that isn't too bright or too burgundy. This applied opaque in 2 coats as well.

Eloise // This is the first of the two free polishes I chose for my box. Eloise is a smoky indigo blue creme. I surprisingly didn't have a navy blue polish in my collection before this, so that's why I chose this one!

Alma // The last polish, and possibly my least favourite, is Alma. This polish is a dijon mustard yellow creme from their Trina Turk Fall 2012 collection. There were only about 10 polishes to choose from for the free additional polishes, and I wanted to get another cream shade, so that's why I chose this one. It's also totally different from anything else in my collection. The formula of this polish is fantastic, it's just the colour I'm not so much a fan of. I'll probably find use for it in some nail art or something though!

Overall I'm really impressed with the formula of these nail polishes. They all applied really smoothly and were quite opaque, taking 2 coats at most. I also love the deals that Julep has! I can't believe I got all of this for only $10! Such a steal!

Have you ever tried Julep nail polishes? What are some of your favourite shades?

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick - Coral Queen (Swatches + Review!)

I've been wanting to get a bright coral lipstick for quite a while now for the spring and summer, and when I found this one I immediately fell in love. And it was on sale when I got it, so I got it for $4.99! This is Rimmel London's Moisture Renew lipstick in the shade 620 Coral Queen. It's a creamy, bright coral that doesn't lean too pink or too orange.

I really love the formula of this lipstick. When I applied it, it felt as if I was wearing a lip balm. It's super moisturizing and comfortable on the lips! It also has buildable opacity. So if you don't feel like wearing a super bright lip, you can swipe it once over your lips for a nice coral colour. If you apply it more concentrated though it comes off as the lovely bright colour that you see in the tube.

This lipstick also has fantastic lasting power! I didn't find it fading much throughout the day and only needed touch ups after eating and/or drinking.

I am completely smitten with this lipstick. I've already worn it a couple of times and I can't wait to have it on my lips all spring & summer!

Pros:
Low price
• Not too pink or too orange
• Moisturizing & comfortable
• Great lasting power
• Buildable colour

Cons:
• None!

What are some of your favourite lipsticks for the spring/summer?
