Nail of the Day: Mosaic Accent Nail

Sometime in my little break from blogging I did this mosaic manicure! It was a technique I had never tried before but I really liked how it came out. I used some striping tape I bought on eBay to make the lines, and then I used a dotting tool dipped in different colours of nail polish to fill in the different sections!

The polishes I used were: OPI My Vampire Is Buff as the base, with Eurso Euro, You're Such A Budapest, and If You Moust, You Moust for the accent colours!

Have you ever tried an accent manicure? What other nail art should I try with my striping tape?

Sephora Pastel Pop Palette (Swatches + Review)

I'm back everyone! Sorry for taking the month-long hiatus. But I start school again tomorrow so I'll feel like now I'll have a more regular schedule and will hopefully make the time to get back into posting regularly on my blog! Today I will be sharing my thoughts a palette I recently picked up at Sephora!

I recently found this palette at my local Sephora in their little sale section and picked it up! It's the Pastel Pop Palette by Sephora. This palette was released spring 2013 and was sold for $34 CAD, but I got mine on sale for $19!

The packaging of this palette is quite nice and simple. It has black plastic casing with the Sephora "S" on the top of it. It's a good size for travel as well.

This palette consists of 4 sparkling topcoat shadows, and 4 matte shadows. I'm a big fan of both glitter and matte shadows so I got pretty excited about seeing both in this palette!

The glittering topcoats apply quite sheer, but they're meant for layering on top of other non-glittery shadows. These will add a hint of colour and beautiful glitter to any eyeshadow look you wear. My favourite way of wearing these is using the white or beige glitter on top of my inner corner highlight to add some beautiful glitter without making it too outrageous looking.

The matte shades are beautifully smooth and pigmented (swatched above with no primer/base). There's a deep purple/slate shade, a very light pink, a taupe, and a light ivory shade. The taupe shadow does have a slight sheen to it, and even though it's supposed to be matte I find the sheen to make the colour even more gorgeous. These shadows can be combined to create very subtle, natural looks to deeper smokey looks when incorporating the deeper shade! These shadows last all day on my eyes as well with a primer and don't fade or crease!

Overall I love this palette. I've been using the 4 matte shadows quite a bit in my day-to-day looks, and I'm having fun experimenting with the glitter as well!
