Broadway Nails imPress Press-On Manicure Review
About 3 weeks ago I received a box from Influenster with these two imPRESS Press-On Manicures from Broadway Nails to review. Now that I've worn and tested these nails I thought I'd share my thoughts with you!

MAC Alluring Aquatic: Lorelei Extra Dimension Eye Shadow

MAC Alluring Aquatic Lorelei Extra Dimension Eye Shadow MAC Alluring Aquatic Lorelei Extra Dimension Eye Shadow MAC Alluring Aquatic Lorelei Extra Dimension Eye Shadow
When the MAC Alluring Aquatic collection for Summer 2014 was released I knew I had to pick up something from it. I wasn't really crazy about a lot of the shades in the collection but the packaging wasn't something I could pass up. I ended up picking up the MAC Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in Lorelei. Lorelei is a light golden-peach shimmery shade. It applies nicely both wet a dry, dry with a softer look and wet with a more bold look. Above, the swatch on the left is dry, and the right is wet. This is such a great everyday colour to wear all over the lid and I'm sure I'll wear it a bunch this summer!

Did you get anything from the MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection?

Mani Monday #16

China Glaze In A Lily Bit
This is China Glaze In A Lily Bit from the Spring 2014 City Flourish Collection. I found this at Winners and it was such a pretty colour, I had to pick it up. Sorry I've been really slow on posts these past couple of weeks! I plan on getting back on track now though so expect more posts to come your way!

Mani Monday #15

Mani Monday Julep Ramona
I got this polish this week in my May Julep Maven box. It's the shade Ramona. It's a pale lilac-rose colour. I love the colour of this polish, and the polish was really opaque (even with 1 coat), but the formula was really thick and hard to work with. I still do like the colour though! I'll do a post showing what else I got in my Julep Maven box this month later this week!

Lip Product Addict Tag!

I thought I would do the Lip Product Addict Tag that Amelia Liana and EssieButton recently created since I'm quite the lip product junkie. It was hard to choose favourites for some categories but it was fun to do!

TAG QUESTIONS

1. Favourite balm/treatment?
My favourite lip balm to make my lips as soft as possible is the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in the Lemon scent. This lip balm is so intensely hydrating and works great as an overnight treatment as well. And it has SPF 25! A favourite lip treatment is the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. I frequently wear matte lipsticks and this keeps my lips free of flakes and dry patches!

2. Best eye-catching red?
This was really difficult for me to choose, but I ended up going with my MAC Ronnie Red lipstick. I bought this through someone on Instagram a couple of months ago since I missed out on the Archie's Girls collection. This is a gorgeous matte blue-based red and I absolutely love it!

3. Best luxury & best drugstore?
Best Luxury: My most recent MAC lipstick purchase, Mangrove from the Proenza Schouler collection! I didn't expect to like this colour as much as I do, but once I tried it on I fell in love. It's a gorgeous matte orange-red, and the packaging is so luxurious and beautiful!
Best Drugstore: I have to give this one to Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipsticks! They're so intensely pigmented, some in a range of beautiful bright shades, and they have great lasting power! I have the shades Vivid Rose, Shocking Coral, and Electric Fuchsia and I love them all!

4. Best MAC lipstick?
This was another tough choice. I don't have many MAC lipsticks but I do really love all the ones that I have. I ended up choosing MAC Toying Around from the recent Playland collection. It's a stunning bright coral in an amplified finish and I love it!

5. The most disappointing?
I don't really have any really disappointing lip products because I obsessively read reviews of products before purchasing but I ended up choosing the NYC lipstick in Sheer Red. I bought this lipstick because emilynoel83 on YouTube always raved about it but it ended up not being the red for me. I'm just not a fan of the shade or finish on myself.

6. Liner - yes or no?
I only just bought my first lip liner a couple of weeks ago and even though I love it I'm going to say no. Just because I don't have much experience with lip liners and the majority of the time I don't wear one!

7. Best gloss?
I'm not a lip gloss girl at all. I ended up choosing my Julep lip gloss in Graceful. It's a creamy soft light pink shade and it's not goopy or uncomfortable on the lips.

8. Something extra!
For something extra I thought I'd mention the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms! I can't get enough of these. They're so bright and pigmented and very comfortable to wear! I have the shades Unapologetic, Elusive, Mischevious, and Audacious. If you haven't tried these yet I'd highly recommend them!

Are you a lip product addict like me? If you are, I tag you to do this too!

Mani Monday #14

Mani Monday #14 imPress Press-On Manicure Disney Villians Evil Queen nails ombre lace Influenster VoxBox
Last week I recieved an Influenster VoxBox which came with some imPress Press-On Manicures by Broadway Nails. I thought I'd try one of them out this week! I've never used press-on nails, acrylic nails, shellac, or any other kind of "fake" nails before so this is totally new for me. I'll be wearing these throughout the week and will post a full review then! So far, so good though. They were really easy to apply and look cute! My only issue so far is that my nail beds are quite long so the nails were too short for a lot of my nails.

This imPress Press-On Manicure is part of their Disney Villians collection, and it's the Evil Queen manicure. I love the pastel pink-blue ombre and the lace overlay! It's girly but still kind of edgy too. Keep an eye on my blog later this week for a full review on my imPress Press-On Manicure!

Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Smashbox x Santigold: Earth As We Know It

Smashbox x Santigold The Santigolden Age Summer 2014 Collection Eye Shadow Collage Earth As We Know It review swatches Smashbox x Santigold The Santigolden Age Summer 2014 Collection Eye Shadow Collage Earth As We Know It review swatches Smashbox x Santigold The Santigolden Age Summer 2014 Collection Eye Shadow Collage Earth As We Know It review swatches Smashbox x Santigold The Santigolden Age Summer 2014 Collection Eye Shadow Collage Earth As We Know It review swatches Last month when I finished my internship at FLARE Magazine they gave me a little parting gift of some beauty products, and this was one of the items included! This is the Earth As We Know It Eye Shadow Collage from the Smashbox x Santigold The Santigolden Age Collection for summer 2014. It features 5 wet-dry eye shadows in the shape of a snake head, complete with embossed scales. I'm so in love with the packaging and presentation of this palette I almost didn't want to dive in it to swatch! But, I am thrilled I did because not only is the packaging stunning, the 5 eye shadows all swatched beautifully (swatched dry with no primer above)!

I'm typically a neutral eye shadow girl, but I am so excited to play with the colours in this palette! They're all very pigmented and have a range of textures. The shades included are a shimmery kelly green with fine gold shimmer, a sparkling ivory, a matte navy blue, a sparkling deep forest green with gold and green glitter, and a deep matte plum-brown with gold and rose gold glitter. These shadows are all so unique and different from anything else in my collection so I'm really pleased with them! If you're looking for some unique eyeshadows with beautiful packaging and pigmentation I would definitely suggest checking this palette out!

Below is a look I created with the palette using the kelly green, the sparkling ivory, and the matte navy blue! I also used Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black, and put Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in Bright Blue on the waterline! I applied the shadows dry over Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

MAC x Proenza Schouler: Mangrove Lipstick

MAC x Proenza Schouler: Mangrove Lipstick review swatches MAC x Proenza Schouler: Mangrove Lipstick review swatches MAC x Proenza Schouler: Mangrove Lipstick review swatches MAC x Proenza Schouler: Mangrove Lipstick review swatches MAC x Proenza Schouler: Mangrove Lipstick review swatches
Initially I planned on maybe buying one of the Ombre Blushes from the MAC x Proenza Schouler collection, but here we are and I am now sharing with you the third product I picked up from this line. I caved and bought the Mangrove Lipstick over the weekend when I was shopping with my friend. I tried the lipstick on in-store and ended up liking it more than I thought I would so I ended up buying it! I had a MAC gift card from Christmas too that I hadn't used (because my regular MAC counter is in a The Bay store and they wouldn't accept the gift card there), so I ended up only having to pay under $5 of my own money for this lipstick which was great!

Mangrove is a matte bright orange-red lipstick. I usually go for cool blue-based red lipsticks, so I was surprised to like this warm red so much! The formula is wonderful and applies smoothly and very opaque. It stays on my lips for around 5 hours before needing slight touch ups which was great! It is slightly drying but that's to be expected with most matte lipsticks and I didn't mind since the colour was staying on so well! This is definitely going to be my go-to red lipstick for this summer!

April Favourites 2014

April Beauty Favourites 2014
Another month has passed and it's time to share my monthly favourites with you! April was quite the month for me. I finished my internship and college this month, then I went through an awful week with an ear infection, and now the month is already over! I did get quite a few beauty products this month which I have absolutely fallen in love with though!

OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana / This polish was released with OPI's Brazil collection for Spring 2014. It's the perfect yellow nail polish. I don't know what else to say about it! The formula is fantastic, being very creamy and opaque and the colour is just bright enough. (Swatch)

Urban Decay Naked Basics / I bought this palette during the Sephora 15% off sale and I am so, so glad I did. I've had my eye on this palette since it was first released but put off buying it for some reason. Since I've bought it though, I've used just this palette to do my eyeshadow nearly every single day. It's very quickly become a staple for me! (Review)

H&M Lip Tint in Hot Pink / I picked this up on a whim this month and it really, really surprised me. This product is similar to an OCC Lip Tar in that you only need a little bit of product to get a bright, opaque lip colour. It was also very long wearing! I'll be posting a review on this soon and I hope to buy more of these too!

C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve / I bought this at Bath and Body Works as part of a 3 for 10 deal just because I needed a third thing, and I ended up loving it. It's a balm that can be used on the lips, but can also be used on dry skin or cuticles. I've mostly used it as a lip balm so far, but it is very hydrating and feels fantastic on the lips!

MAC x Proenza Schouler Blush Ombre in Ocean City / I know, I know. I've had this blush for all of what? Three days? But I am already so in love with this blush, I couldn't not include it. Since the promo images for this collection were released I've been dreaming of this blush and I'm so thrilled with it. (Review)

MAC Lipstick in Toying Around / This lipstick is part of the Playland collection MAC recently released and it's my perfect summer shade. I've worn it a few times already and it's the most gorgeous bright coral lipstick. I'll be wearing it all spring and summer long! (Review)

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Streak / This is the other product I bought from Sephora during their 15% off sale. I still haven't posted my review of it yet but this has very quickly become my go-to everyday lipstick. It's a bright enough shade that it's not boring or too neutral on the lips, but it's a very easy shade to wear and looks good with any look. And I love the formula and packaging of it too!

Julep Nail Polish in Monaco / I got this nail polish in my March Julep Maven box and it's a gorgeous bright blue creme. I've worn it in two manicures in the past month or so which you can see here and here! I love the formula of Julep polishes too. They apply smoothly and opaque, and last a long time without chipping!

Bath & Body Works Candles in Coconut Leaves and Tiki Beach / I bought these candles when Bath & Body Works was doing a buy 1 get 1 free candle sale one day. These candles are both so tropical smelling and I love burning them at the same time! Coconut Leaves is described as "a tropical fusion of juicy tangerine and papaya that gives way to soothing coconut and vanilla notes". Tiki Beach is described as "a luxurious blend of toasted coconut, vanilla musk, and orchids".
