1. I got a cute mug that I'm using to store my favourite makeup brushes.

2. I also got a spinning brush holder for the remainder of my brushes!

3. A #latergram from last summer when I flew to the states to visit a friend.

4. I saw these cute flowering cacti in a store and had to take a picture!

5. A little shopping haul. I got the coat and blue sweater at Old Navy, the black top at H&M, and a Sephora lip cream!

6. Drinking my current go-to strawberry banana smoothie while working and painting my nails.

7. A Kate Spade store will be opening in the Eaton Centre!

8. I got these cute boots and I can't wait to wear them this spring!

9. Gathering inspiration for an upcoming project I'll be working on.

I've really been into Instagram a lot more the past few weeks, and that's saying a lot because I've been really into it for years now. I've started putting more thought and effort into the photos I've been sharing and I've been enjoying it a lot! Also, as I mentioned above, I'm currently planning a giveaway on my Instagram! Once I reach 1,000 followers I'll be hosting a giveaway and I'm really excited abotu it. If you'd like to take part then follow my account, @laurenschroer, and keep an eye out!

Instagram Catch-Up + How I Edit Photos

It's been a while since I've done one of these so I thought I'd do an Instagram catch-up today! Instagram has to be my most-used app as I love taking and editing photos. 

The first photo here is of my new bag I got from ASOS by New Look! I got it for the winter and I absolutely love it. / Next is from a day I tried out purple lips using the OCC Lip Tar in Rollergirl. / I recently got a new lipstick organizer for 36 lipsticks and I filled it right up! I'm pleased that I have enough MAC lipsticks to fill an entire row! 

I had the most festive hot chocolate in my adorable snowman mug from Target! / My hair was tucked into my shirt this way after putting it on and this is how I want to get my hair cut in the new year!! / I love my new Stay Home Club loose tee! I love everything from that company

This is a display of prints and frames at Indigo in Toronto and I love how it looks. / I saw this mug at Urban Outfitters and had to snap a photo of it, it's perfect for me. / I had my first Lush bath this past month and I can already tell it'll be a new obsession of mine!

 

The main two apps I use to edit my Instagram photos are Afterlight and VSCOcam. I mainly use Afterlight but lately I've been using VSCO more often too! The filter I most frequently use on Afterlight is Russ and the ones I like on VSCO are LV1 and HB1. To get the mirrored effect on my photos I use an app called FrameMagic, and I use that for any collage type photos as well.

Instagram Round-Up #5

Hey everyone! Sorry there's no new Mani Monday post - I'm still wearing my manicure from last week! I'll have a new one to post next Monday though. I thought I'd do another Instagram Round-up post since it's been a couple weeks since I've posted one of these!

I went to Waterloo this weekend to visit some friends and I went shopping and got some things I've been wanting! I got a KESH x American Apparel crop top that I've wanted since last fall because Hayley Williams wears it a lot playing Paramore shows and I love the graphic print on it! I also went to Sephora for the 15% off sale and picked up the Naked Basics palette and a Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Streak which I'm so excited about! Lastly, American Eagle had 70% off all their sale stuff and I bought 2 things for myself off the men's clothing rack - a camo baseball tee which I got for $6 and a mint crewneck sweatshirt for $9!

When I was in Waterloo my friends took me to the cutest little bakery called Honey Bake Shop. The decor and branding of the bakery was so adorable. I didn't get any food because we had just gone there from brunch so I wasn't hungry, but next time I go I'll be sure to get a cupcake or some macarons!

These are the friends I visited, Courtney and Robyn! We just spent the weekend shopping and catching up and we had a movie night and watched Frozen too!

I picked up this adorable Saturday by Kate Spade ombre case for my iPhone on clearance at Winners!

My kitty was all snuggled up in a bunch of blankets and it was just the cutest!

At my internship last week there were some gourmet doughnuts in the office from Jelly Modern Doughnuts and they were so pretty and delicious!

I'm so glad the weather is finally warming up so I've been able to dress a little more springy and I broke out my favourite white sunglasses from last summer too!

I really like black and white stripes so I bought this dress from H&M and a pair of striped flats from Payless too. I also got a couple summery scented candles from Bath & Body Works when there was a buy one get one free sale and they're so fruity and delicious smelling!

This is an outfit I tried on at H&M but didn't end up buying. I recently got a coupon for $10 off a $40 purchase at H&M though so I might have to go back and buy it!

So that's what I've been up to/bought over the past couple of weeks!

Instagram Round-Up #3

1. Here's my outfit of the day for today! I wore a khaki green knit sweater from Target with my American Eagle black skinny jeans.

2. On Saturday I went snow tubing with my family! It was so much fun! We used to go a lot when my sister and I were kids and it was fun going back!

3. These are a few things I picked up at Walmart this weekend. I'll be posting about most of the makeup I got in upcoming posts!

4. I got these cutout ankle boots on clearance at Target for only $24.99! And they cost me even less with my employee discount ;)!

5. This Mondrian-inspired cake was at the FLARE Magazine offices one morning this week. It was so cool!

6. The oh-so-lovely spring weather we had this week :(

Instagram Round-Up #2

I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent most of it working but I still managed to get out and enjoy the nicer weather we had! Here are a few things I did this week!

1. I got a couple of plants today! I got them for my desk at my internship since it's kind of bare but I love them, they're so cute!

2. I took this picture today when I was at Lowe's with my mom picking out some plants. I love all the greenery and colours there!

3. I also got some Menchie's today! It was very colourful today with cotton candy and Lucky Charm's flavoured fro-yo with Froot Loops, Clodhoppers, sprinkles, and a sour watermelon to top it off! So yummy!

4. My March Julep Maven box came in this week! Keep an eye out for a post about it this week!

5. A picture of my nails this week - I loved this colour so much! It's OPI Toucan Do It If You Try from the new Brazil collection.

6. This is a piece I designed for fun this week. The left is my quick sketch of my idea for it and the right is the final piece I made! It's featuring lyrics from the song Lonely Girl by Tonight Alive!

Instagram Round-Up #1

I've decided to start a new series of posts - Instagram Round-up! It's a quick post I can make on Sundays just sharing some things I posted on Instagram throughout the week! It appears I did quite a bit of shopping this week haha. Below I'll kind of talk about each photo! Let me know if you like the idea of this and if you'd like it to be a weekly thing!

1. A little haul from last weekend. I scored a NARS Pierre Hardy nail polish duo at Winners for only $16.99! I'll do a swatch post soon! I also got some Katie Daisy notebooks from Marshall's, and a new hair straightener since mine broke. The straightener was regular $70-$80, was on sale for $30, and then was 50% off too! And it works great! Such a steal.

2.A shot of my new patent black pumps that I wore to work at FLARE this week. I'm a tall girl and I'm finally getting used to wearing heels. These ones are so comfy too!

3. I bought MAC Ronnie Red off someone's Instagram shop! Back when the Archie's Girls MAC collection came out I didn't have a job or the money to spend on MAC makeup, but I found this one for sale and had to buy it! The packaging is to die for.

4. My breakfast at FLARE this week. Starbucks banana loaf and Naked Green Machine juice. So yummy!

5. This Friday I got to photograph Hedley's concert! If you don't know, I'm a music photographer. You can check out my photos here! It was such a fun show to shoot!

6. I went shopping at Target and got some new clothes for spring! Even though these don't look very springy. I guess I'll be wearing black and white into spring/summer!

7. I picked up a shirt from Bethany Mota's spring Aeropostale collection. I've been watching her on YouTube for the past couple of years and I loved this top! I put together a little outfit with my new high waisted shorts and cardigan from Target!

8. This is my attempt at crown/milkmaid braids! I tried it the other night, but of course when I attempted it again the next day it didn't turn out nearly as well. This always happens when I try new hairstyles! They look perfect before I go to bed, but when I try to do it in the morning it doesn't work out :(
