Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Coral Twist (Review + Swatches)

It seems like every company has been coming out with a jumbo pencil lip product, and I've been wanting to try one for a while now. So yesterday I got one of the Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balms! They were on sale for $8.50 at Shoppers Drug Mart and I had a coupon for $2 off any Covergirl product so I got one!

The shade I got is Coral Twist. Unfortunately, once you take the plastic wrapper off the pencil the name is no longer on the product! I wish they put the name of the shade on the sticker on the bottom of the pencil or something! But at least I know what the shade name was.

Coral Twist is a lovely coral shade. It isn't too pink or too orange, so it's very wearable. The gloss balm can be applied sheer in 1 coat, or built up to be a brighter shade of coral!

This product is very comfortable. It's light and moisturizing on the lips, feeling like a lip balm! The staying power is pretty good too! It stayed on for 4-5 hours, only coming off when I ate a meal. But application with this product is super easy so having to reapply every 4-5 hours would be no problem!

This colour is a perfect shade for everyday wear. It gives the lips a nice hint of coral without being too bright. It's a really great product and I'd love to try some more shades!

Revlon Lip Butter: Juicy Papaya (Review + Swatches!)

I've been dying to try out the new Revlon Lip Butters and had the hardest time finding them. But one day I was grocery shopping with my mom at the Superstore and when I was checking out the makeup section they have there I found a display with the new colours!! As much as I wanted to buy all 4, I only ended up getting one, and I got Juicy Papaya!

Juicy Papaya is a sheer peachy-pink that can be built up slightly for more colour. It's such a fantastic shade for everyday wear, and I've worn it pretty much every day since I've bought it!

This colour is so pretty on the lips. It doesn't add too much colour, but it gives your lips a hint of that peachy-pink colour and adds nice shine! I love Revlon Lip Butters so much. They're so moisturizing and feel fantastic! This is my 5th lip butter now!

I think this may be my favourite of my 5 lip butters! It goes great with any makeup look and adds nice moisture and shine :).

Do you have any of the new lip butters? Which ones are your favourite?

Friday Favourites

I love this quote and illustration so, so much.

These watercolour paintings by Agnes Cecile are gorgeous.

This embroidered type is lovely.

I don't know what it is about this photo series, but I find it really fascinating!

I love the lettering on this print!

Here's one of the looks I created this week with my new Smashbox palette!

Last night I went to Toronto for my school's graphic design show and then went to a bar for karaoke with some friends.

Some of my work was in the show in Toronto! It was a magazine cover and spread that I shot and designed (featuring my best friend) :)!

Nail of the Day: Periwinkle Polka Dots

Today I painted my nails with OPI's You're Such A Budapest and to make them a bit more fun, I added some white polka dots with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in White On! I often forget about my dotting tools, but they make it so easy to do a little nail art! I really need to use them more!

Also, just a little update. Yesterday was my last day of classes for the year so I should be posting more regularly now for the summer! Yay!

Smashbox Studio Pop Ultimate Palette: Review + Photos (Part 3)

This is the 3rd and final part of my review and photos of the Smashbox Studio Pop Ultimate Palette. Make sure you check out part 1 and part 2!

Today it's time to focus on the cheek colours, cream eyeliners, and lip glosses in the palette. There are 2 soft lights, 3 blushes, 1 bronzer, 9 cream eyeliners, and 6 lip glosses.

The cheek colours in this palette are so beautiful. There are 2 Soft Lights which are light and shimmery and can be worn as a blush or highlight, 3 blushes, and a light bronzer. All of the shades are quite light, but that's fine with me since I'm pretty fair! They're all very pigmented and smooth, and easily blendable!
Cheek Colours (L to R): Lens (soft lights), Warm Apricot (blush)

Cheek Colours (L to R): Prism (soft lights), Passion (blush)

Cheek Colours (L to R): Petunia (blush), Sunkissed Matte Bronzer

I have never owned cream eyeliners before these ones, so these are a whole new experience for me. I've been using these sort of as a base for an eyeshadow on my lower lashline and that's been working great! I recently ordered an eyeliner brush so once I get that I'll be experimenting with these some more!
Cream Eyeliners (L to R): Ivy, Caviar, Fortune, Picasso, Midnight Brown, Taupe, Deep Purple, Gilt, Smoke

The glosses are all fairly sheer, but really gorgeous. They aren't too sticky on the lips either. With a few of the brighter shades the colour can be applied light and sheer, or built up to be brighter!
Lip Glosses (L to R): Gumdrop, Bella, Lily

Lip Glosses (L to R): Tea Rose, Pomegranate, Freeze

Overall, I'm completely in love with this palette. I am so in love with it, especially the eye shadows and blushes. And for spending only $25 on it? Money very well spent. If you have a Winners store near you I'd highly suggest you check it out for this palette!
