NYX Cherry Culture Haul!

A couple weeks back I made an order from Cherry Culture because they were doing a 40% off sale on all NYX products! NYX has become one of my favourite drugstore brands, however it's not the easiest brand to find in Canadian drugstores. I find it easier to buy their products online (and preferably on sale) when I want to try some new ones! I've been using these products for a few days now so I thought I'd show you what I got and share my first impressions of them!

NYX Blush in Taupe // This is a blush that one of my favourite YouTubers, NikkieTutorials, consistently raves about. She uses it as a contour shade. Since I think her and I have similar skintones I wanted to see how this blush would work as a contour for myself! I've been using it for a few days now and
I really like it! The shade is a very light, matte taupe that makes for a very natural looking contour!

NYX Blush in Peach // This is another blush I've heard some good things about in the YouTube community. It's a matte light pinky-peach blush. Considering it's called Peach, this blush is more pink than you'd expect it to be, but it's a really gorgeous shade! This is a blush that will be great to wear year-round too!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt // I have 1 Jumbo Eye Pencil from NYX already in Milk, and it's a product I use every single day. This time I got one in the shade Yogurt! It's a light, shimmery champagne colour with a bit of a pinky undertone. It's a really gorgeous shade!

NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Purple // I've been wanting a bright liquid eyeliner for a while to do bold winged liner so I picked this one up! It's a deep but very bright purple with a bit of shimmer and it is so beautiful. I'm already obsessed with it!

NYX Single Eyeshadow in True Taupe // I've heard amazing things about NYX's single eyeshadows and had yet to try one, so I picked this one up in True Taupe! I was hoping this would be a dupe for Tease from the UD Naked2 palette, but this shadow is a bit lighter than Tease. It still works great as a transition shade for blending out deeper crease colours and I love wearing it for a bit of definition along the lower lashline! I would love to try some more of these shadows in the brighter colours they have!

Cherry Culture Lip Balm in Peach // When you spend $20 or more on cherryculture.com they throw in a free lip balm in the scent of your choice! I chose the Peach one and it smells delicious! This lip balm is very moisturizing and smooth on the lips, I really enjoy it!

NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz // I'm not much of a nude lips girl, but I did want to get something in case I ever wanted to wear a nude lip and I had been wanting to try these Xtreme Lip Creams! These apply like a lip gloss and set sort of like a lipstick! This colour is a great nude lip colour for me! It's not too pale so it doesn't look like I put concealer on my lips, it's just the right shade!

NYX Round Lipstick in Stella // I have 1 round lipstick already in the shade Fig and I think it's my favourite lipstick I own, so I really wanted to get another one! I got this one in the shade Stella, which is a creamy medium pink with yellow undertones. It's a really pretty shade and will be great to wear on days I want something brighter than Fig!

Here's a look I created using some of the products I bought! In this look I'm wearing:
• NYX Blush in Taupe to contour my cheekbones/temples
• NYX Blush in Peach on my cheeks
• NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt on my lower lashline/waterline
• NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Purple as winged liner
• NYX Single Eyeshadow in True Taupe through the crease/to blend out the crease
• NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz on my lips

Small Haul! (B+BW, Chapters, OPI)

Here's a quick haul from last week when I went to the mall! I got this stuff a couple of days before Mother's Day and one of these things is what I gave to my mom! Here's what I got:

Bath & Body Works Candles - Espresso Bar and Caribbean Escape // Bath & Body Works was having an amazing 3 for $30 sale for Mothers Day on their 3-wick candles so my friend and I split and got some! I got 2 candles in the scents Espresso Bar and Caribbean Escape. Espresso Bar is described as "Stop and savour the aromas of roasted espresso beans and sweet vanilla froth like the Italians, who never take their coffee "to go"." I'm not a coffee drinker but I love the smell of it and when I burn this candle it makes my house smell like a Starbucks! The other scent I got is Caribbean Escape, which is one of my favourite B&BW scents. I have a small 4oz. version of this candle but I thought I'd pick up a 3-wick one for when the small one runs out. This scent is described as "Dive into this blend of tropical melon, raspberry nectar and lemon mellowed by creamy coconut milk and raw sugarcane for a fragrant and exotic escape." It's so tropical and fruity and sweet smelling, I love it!

OPI If You Moust, You Moust // While I was at the mall I stopped by Trade Secrets (as I always do) to see if they had any nail polish on sale. Luckily, they did! They had a small table of 50% off OPI polishes so I picked up this one from last year's Vintage Minnie Mouse collection! It's the perfect creamy medium pink!

Custom Lettering of the 40s and 50s // As some of you probably know, I'm a graphic design student and I love typography. When I was in Chapters I found this book showing tons of beautiful lettering from the 40s and 50s! It was normally priced at $50 but it was on sale for only $12.99! I couldn't believe it so I obviously had to buy it!

Mug // I bought this mug at Chapters for my mom for Mother's Day! She saw it a few months ago when we were shopping together and she really liked it so I got it for her! It has a lowercase 'b' on one side and an uppercase 'B' on the other side! (My mom's name is Barb) She was really surprised I got it and was very happy :)!

Let me start this off by saying I love this manicure. I love black and white patterns and floral, so the combination of them is perfect. I did this manicure inspired by a nail tutorial MissJenFabulous on YouTube did!

This is what Jen's manicure looked like, and I think I did a pretty decent job re-creating it! It was really simple to do too and looks so cute!

• Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On
• OPI Pink Friday
• OPI If You Moust, You Moust

Friday Favourites

I realized like half way through this week that I forgot to do my Friday Favourites post last week! Sorry about that! I do have quite a few things to share with you today though! :)
I love this hand embroidered/sewn type.

A guy raised $6000 to "hire a man in a plane to write stupid things in the sky" and I think it's hilarious.

I love this One Picture Saves a Life initiative to help dogs and cats get adopted! They help shelter staff learn how to groom and photograph shelter pets to help them get adopted!

I love these photos of a Sigur Ros concert in the mountains. It looks magical.

This street art by Kid Acne is wonderful. I love the lettering and colours he uses!

These photos are really, really cool.

I got some pretty cute flats at Walmart!

I ordered some stickers from Redbubble! I sell my designs, and 2 of these are my designs, on Redbubble where you can buy them as stickers, tshirts, iphone cases, prints, and more! This is my shop!

I saw Paramore in Toronto on Monday! They've been one of my favourite bands for years so it was incredible seeing them again!

So much confetti at the concert!

I bought a denim bustier yesterday at Marshall's to wear with my new skater skirt from Forever 21!

I've been burning this candle so much this week. It's Espresso Bar from Bath & Body Works!

Nail of the Day: If You Moust, You Moust

Sorry that literally all I've been posting lately has been NOTD's! I do have a NYX haul and a couple reviews coming up this weekend/next week though! My most recent nail polish purchase is OPI's If You Moust, You Moust from their Vintage Minnie Mouse collection last year. I've been wanting OPI's Shorts Story for a while but couldn't find it anywhere, and this polish is a pretty good dupe for it! And I found it in a 50% off sale!

If You Moust, You Moust is a creamy medium pink. It's not too dark or too pastel, it's perfect! This polish's formula was great as well, going opaque in 2-3 coats. I could definitely see this becoming my go-to pink polish!

Nail of the Day: Cloud

I've been trying to go through the nail polishes in my collection that I've never used before and try them out! That's what I did yesterday with this nail polish. This is Cloud by Revlon. I got this in the fall at the Flea Market with a couple other nail polishes that I believe were 3 for $5.

Cloud is a very soft, milky blue with almost a touch of purple to it. It's a really lovely colour and went on opaque in 2 coats. The only down side to this polish is that it seems to have a soft finish. Even once my nails were dry and I applied a top coat, if something hard touched the surface of one of my nails it dented the polish. I don't know if there's anything that can be done to fix that problem, because it's a shame since I really like the colour of this polish!

Nail of the Day: Hayley Williams/Paramore Inspired

Yesterday I saw Paramore in concert! It was my second time seeing them (I saw them at Warped Tour in 2011 where I actually met Hayley) and they were phenomenal. I wanted to do my nails for the show and decided on doing a manicure inspired by Hayley Williams and her style!

Here's a collage of images I made and where most of my inspiration came from!
