Too Faced Sweet Indulgences Palette // I got this palette for Christmas and I love it so much. I used it almost every day throughout the month of January. I love the mix of neutrals with a few brighter colours in it, as well as the mix of textures. The 4 shadows I've worn the most (which I've also marked with an asterisk*) are probably In The Buff (matte ivory), Teddy Bear (matte chocolate brown), Satin Sheets (shimmery golden pink), and Cherry Cola (deep wine/reddish brown with shimmer). I do also really like the blushes in this palette as well, and I've been using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance it came with almost daily!
At the end of December I made an order on cherryculture.com to try out some NYX products since it's a brand I'd been wanting to try for a while. Needless to say I am very happy with their products and I just ordered a few more this week! The products I got and have been loving are:
NYX Round Lipstick in "Fig" // Fig is a medium creamy peachy-pink lipstick. It's quite bright but still very wearable. I was really impressed by the formula of the NYX round lipsticks. They're very moisturizing and comfortable on the lips, as well as incredibly pigmented! I'm sure I'll purchase more NYX lipsticks in the future.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in "Sao Paolo" // I am in love with this product. I've been really into matte lip products lately and this product may be to blame. If you're not familiar with these matte lip creams, they come in a tube much like a lip gloss and you apply it with a doe-foot applicator. The formula goes on creamy and smooth and then dries to a matte finish. I do like to apply a lip balm before applying this to make sure my lips don't get too dry, but I'm never too bothered by it. The colour of this is a medium to deep warm pink. I've been wearing it constantly this month and I love it. I wore it in a FOTD post here!
NYX Blush in "Pinched" // This is a peachy pink blush with gold shimmer. I used this blush probably 25 out of the 31 days of January. It's a great everyday colour and goes with any look!
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk" // I can't even tell you how thrilled I am to finally own this product. I have constantly heard about this from watching youtube videos over the past 4 or so years and I am so glad that I finally have it. I used this probably every single day in January and I love it so much. I usually apply it over top of Too Faced Shadow Insurance or UD Primer Potion on my lid, and then also apply it in my inner corner as a base for my highlight shade and on my waterline. I really want to get more colours now! It's fantastic!
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush // I have been wanting a new foundation brush for a few months now and had been eyeing the Sigma Sigmax kabuki collection, but unfortunately they were sort of out of my price range. I remembered hearing quite a bit about Real Techniques brushes for a while now so I decided to check them out! These aren't sold in stores in Canada (that I know of), so I ordered one online! I have been using it for my liquid foundation for the past couple of weeks and I love it. The size is perfect, it's really soft, and it's nice and dense so it's a dream for buffing foundation into the skin! I really want to try out more Real Techniques brushes now since I'm so in love with this one! I ordered it online from iHerb.com. I came across this website after doing some research, but they give you $5 off your first order from them, which gave me practically free shipping! In total (including shipping to Canada) it only cost me $9.79 which I am so happy about.
Nivea Aqua Effect Moisturizing Night Care // This winter I was hit quite hard with dry skin so I knew it was about time for me to start using a moisturizing night cream. After browsing the entire skincare aisle of WalMart I came across this Nivea night cream. I have never heard a single bad thing about any Nivea products so I decided to give it a go! Literally within one night of using this I noticed a difference in my skin. And now since using this product for a few weeks my skin feels fantastic and I've had absolutely no problems with any dryness! It's a really thick cream that I apply every night before bed and it works wonders. You don't even need a lot of it either for it to be effective! I have a feeling this is a product I'll continue using for years to come, it's that great!
I couldn't make a favourites post without including some nail polishes! These are my 2 favourites from the past month. OPI Goldeneye is such a gorgeous gold with glitter. It really makes a statement on the nails and I honestly can't stop looking at them when I wear this polish. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, OPI My Very First Knockwurst is a really great pinky-nude! This is my first nude polish and I just love the clean and 'polished' look it gives my nails! It looks lovely with simple nail art on it too!
Kate Spade Twirl Perfume // I got this for Christmas this year and I love it! I actually was there when my mom bought it because we were buying gifts for our annual family gift exchange game we always play, and luckily I ended up with it! Since I was there when it was purchased, let me tell you, it was a steal! We got the gift set which is worth a value of $155 that includes the 3.4oz perfume, a body lotion, and a shower gel on clearance for only $25 at Winners! On top of that, we got it during the friends & family sale, and since my mom works there we got an additional 20% off that! So amazing! Since I'm terrible at describing scents, the Kate Spade website describes the fragrance as "pink watermelon mingles with blackberry and red currant. The fragrance is finished with luminous musk and a touch of french macaron (straight from the patisserie, of course)." This is a scent that I'm sure I'll wear year-round!
So that about wraps up my favourites of the month! Again, if you'd like me to post an "other" favourites post monthy as well, let me know! And what were some of your favourite products from January? I'd love to know!
