For my nails this week I did a floral design inspired my the case I'm currently using on my iPhone 5s! I got this case a few months ago from Winners and it's a Betsey Johnson floral case. I love the colours and floral print on it so I decided to try and replicate it on my nails! I've never really done a floral pattern on my nails like this before but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out! If you like my phone case, I found a site selling it here if you're interested!

I used quite a few polishes to create this manicure so I'll list them left to right in the photo above: Julep Monaco, OPI Kiss Me I'm Brazilian, OPI Funky Dunkey, OPI Pink Friday, OPI I Just Can't Cope-a-cabana, Ulta Limelight, Sally Hansen White On, and Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Black Satin. I used the last 4 colours (yellow, green, black, and white) mixed in different combinations for the leaves. I also applied my Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps Hardener as a base coat and Seche Vite as a top coat.

Last week when I was in Walmart I noticed that the Wet n Wild section had Megalast lipsticks! This was such a big deal for me. I had only seen these lipsticks in 1 or 2 random drugstores in my area before but never in a Walmart so I'm so glad their range is finally expanding here! Last February I ordered a few of these lipsticks online and loved them and have wanted to buy more since, so I had to pick one up when I saw them.

I bought the Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Pinkerbell. This lipstick is said to be a perfect dupe for the MAC Viva Glam Nicki lipstick which I was really excited about! It's a bright yellow-toned pink with a matte finish. These lipsticks are quite drying when you apply them and can drag and cling onto dry patches, so it's very important to exfoliate your lips and apply a balm before applying the lipstick. If you exfoliate and wear a balm underneath they're great though! They apply completely opaque in one swipe and are so pigmented and beautiful you won't believe they only cost $2-$4! The lasting power of these lipsticks is impressive as well, typically only needing a slight touch-up after eating or drinking. I definitely plan on getting more of these lipsticks in the future!

I recently picked up the Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana after spotting it in my local Walmart. The Walmart stores in my area don't typically carry a wide range of Wet n Wild products so when I spotted this I had to pick it up! It is part of a line of bronzers, however this couldn't possibly give a bronzed look to anyone. I'm very fair and it it still light on me. I had heard and read reviews on this to be used as a highlighter though and I wanted to give it a try!

First off, the size of this is so big I don't think I'll ever run out. You get 13g of product (in comparison, MAC blushes have 6g of product), and for only a few bucks it's so, so worth it. The packaging is very cheap but Wet n Wild packaging often is, and it still does the trick.

This highlight gives skin a subtle champagney-golden glow. It's very smooth and finely-milled and doesn't have any visible glitter in it. In my swatch above you can see how subtle it is but it still does nicely highlight the skin. I apply this to the tops of my cheekbones, down my nose, and on my cupids bow to give my face soft highlights and it's really nice! Some highlighters are so harsh but with this one it's hard to over-do it so it's perfect for day-to-day wear.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to try a new highlighter since it's affordable and an overall fantastic product!

Instagram Round-Up #4

Sorry this post is a day late! I had quite the busy day yesterday. I thought I'd still show you what I got up to last week though. Better late than never!

1. Yesterday I went to the L'Oreal private warehouse sale with my friend McKenna because I got tickets at my internship to go! These are the goodies I picked up! Expect a haul post this week and I'll talk a little more about what I got!

2. In Toronto yesterday McKenna and I got pizza for lunch and it was delicious! (We also may have gotten pizza at a different restaurant for dinner too. Don't judge.)

3. I finally bought Frozen on Saturday and had a movie night with my parents. It was my 5th time seeing the movie, I love it so much!

4. There were doughnuts in the office last week. Nothing is better than free doughnuts!

5. I read City of Bones from the Mortal Instruments series this week! I saw the movie last year and enjoyed it and I needed another book to read. I'll probably start the next one in the series soon!

6. The April issue of FLARE (the magazine I intern at) came out this week! Emilia Clarke looks gorgeous on the cover, and there are a few pages that I did in the issue this month too!

As much as I love brightly coloured and boldly patterned nails, sometimes it's nice just to have a clean simple nude manicure. This week on my nails I'm wearing OPI My Vampire Is Buff from last year's Euro Centrale collection. That collection is one of my all-time favourites, and this simple ivory nude polish is perfect. I applied two coats and topped it with Seche Vite.

SPRING TREND REPORT 2014: Dainty Daisies Happy First Day of Spring everyone! Today I have my last post in my Spring Trend Report series for you all. If you've missed the previous posts in this series you can check them all out here! I'm so excited that it's spring now even though spring hasn't "sprung" quite yet. The warmer weather is slowly on its way though and I can't wait.

The last spring trend I'll be sharing is one of my favourites currently - daisies! I've been loving daisy printed items this year and have already added a few to my closet (as you can see above). It's such a pretty floral pattern thats different than the typical florals seen in springtime. I also love that it can be a monochromatic floral since I love wearing black and white.

This week I picked up two Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms in the shades Mischievous and Audacious. I already own one of these in Elusive and I love it. I wear it anywhere from 3-7 days a week, it's the perfect everyday pink colour! I love these matte balms. They're easy to apply, are beautifully pigmented, are comfortable, smell like fresh mint, and they don't dry out my lips. These aren't as long-wearing as a matte lipstick but they still last quite well on the lips, especially in brighter/deeper shades.

Audacious is a bright orangey-coral. It looks more orange in real life than in the photos here, but it does lean slightly pink/coral. I really wanted to try a bright orange lip for this spring/summer, and this one is perfect since I still get the orange look without going too orange for me. It applies evenly without patchiness.

Mischievous is a light peachy orange. This one applied slightly patchier than Audacious but with some work it applies smoothly. I got this shade to try a less intense orange lip. So far I can't decide on which one I prefer! They're both super pretty and I'm sure I'll get a ton of use out of them this spring and summer!

Over the past few weeks I've gone a little crazy with buying nail polish. To be fair I did get a great deal on quite a few of these, plus there are all sorts of new spring collections out that are just too tempting! I should probably hold back on buying nail polish for the next little bit but we'll see how that goes. I tend to not have much self control when it comes to buying nail polish.

I got these two polishes from the Gwen Stefani for OPI collection from a couple months back. I already have two polishes from this collection (I Sing In Color and 4 In The Morning) but I found the collection at Sally's for 50% off! I couldn't pass up that deal so I got In True Stefani Fashion and Push and Shove. I have heard a lot of interesting things about Push and Shove so I really wanted to give it a try. And one can never have too many pretty silver glitters!

When the OPI Brazil collection came out I knew I wouldn't be able to control myself because the collection is so gorgeous! I ended up getting three to start in Kiss Me I'm Brazilian, Toucan Do It If You Try, and I Just Can't Cope-acabana. So far of the three I've only worn Toucan Do It If You Try and I loved it, so I can't wait to try the others!

When I was last at Sally's I saw their new Sally Girl Ice Cream Shoppe collection on the front counter and I had to pick up a couple! I love that these are so small and only cost a little over a dollar each. It's so affordable if you just want to try out a colour! I got the speckled polishes in Grape Sherbert and Chocolate Chip!

I found this NARS Pierre Hardy "Sharplines" Duo at Winners one day for only $16.99! I have never tried anything from NARS as it's usually a little out of my price range but I couldn't pass this up! It's a beautiful peach cream and a deep dark burgundy cream, two of my favourite shades of polish!

This polish is one I picked up on a whim while at Forever 21 one day. It's the Love & Beauty Nail Color in Light Blue. I didn't really have a polish this shade yet and I've never been disappointed with Forever 21's nail polishes!

LVX is a brand of nail polish I've been wanting to try for a while but a) they're not widely available (or even sold in stores in Canada typically) and b) they're kind of pricey. So I was absolutely thrilled when I came across some LVX polishes in Winners for only $6.99 too! This is Azalea from the LVX Spring 2013 collection. I can't wait to try this polish!

Last, and my most recent purchases, are these polishes from Hard Candy. Hard Candy have recently released some new polishes in their range and I had to get a couple since they were so unique looking! I got King of Pop from the Hard Candy Pop Art collection as well as Fairy Ball from the Hard Candy Crystal Confetti collection. I've already worn King of Pop and I love the look of it! These polishes are so unique and pretty and the prices of Hard Candy's polishes is great too!

So those are all of the nail polishes I've bought in the past few weeks. All of those, plus my March Julep Maven box that came in, should give me more than enough polishes to last me through the spring. Hopefully I'll have more self control in the next month or two but sometimes I come across deals that I just can't pass up!

In the past couple of weeks I've picked up quite a few new nail polishes (expect a haul in the next couple of days!) and one of the most unique polishes I've picked up is this topcoat from Hard Candy's new Pop Art line of polishes called King of Pop. This is a matte/flat glitter with light green, white, light blue, peach, and light pink in it! It's such a unique and beautiful combination that is so perfect for spring. I used Kleancolor's Light Blue underneath it and Seche Vite as a top coat!

I remembered seeing this post on Lily Melrose's beauty blog a couple of weeks ago of a Seventeen Colour Clash nail polish in In The Surf and I loved the look of it, and this Hard Candy polish looks like it might be a dupe for it!

Instagram Round-Up #3

1. Here's my outfit of the day for today! I wore a khaki green knit sweater from Target with my American Eagle black skinny jeans.

2. On Saturday I went snow tubing with my family! It was so much fun! We used to go a lot when my sister and I were kids and it was fun going back!

3. These are a few things I picked up at Walmart this weekend. I'll be posting about most of the makeup I got in upcoming posts!

4. I got these cutout ankle boots on clearance at Target for only $24.99! And they cost me even less with my employee discount ;)!

5. This Mondrian-inspired cake was at the FLARE Magazine offices one morning this week. It was so cool!

6. The oh-so-lovely spring weather we had this week :(
